Claudia Winkleman has long been one of Red's style icons, so when she also wears one of our favourite brands, we consider it a match made in fashion heaven. The latest Claud-approved piece to catch our eye? A dreamy cream coat from ME+EM, which we've spotted her wearing for the Christmas special of heartwarming Channel 4 show The Piano.

The TV presenter's stylist, Sinead McKeefry, shared some pictures of Claudia wearing the £550 coat on Instagram in November, while recording the festive episode at Battersea Power Station. Helpfully, Sinead let her 60k followers know then that they could find it at ME+EM and also revealed that Claudia's black lace-up boots are from Legres.

Now, with the Christmas TV schedule confirmed (mark 7.10pm on Christmas Day in your diaries) and promotional imagery released, we've seen more glimpses of Claudia wearing The Coat, and frankly we can't stop thinking about it.

With its triple-figure price tag, this ME+EM coat is definitely an investment buy. However, it's currently 30% off in the sale, and is most definitely the kind of classic, forever-chic style that you'll wear forever and pass down through your family.

We love the military-inspired spin on this stunning A-line coat, which is made from a wool-blend bouclé fabric with elegant notched lapels and chic bronze-toned buttons. Four patch pockets add practicality, with their front positioning keeping the silhouette sleekly streamlined.

If you're worried about the cream colour – perhaps if you've got children, dogs or are prone to spilling coffee! – then note that this ME+EM coat is also available in navy, with that colourway in the sale too. Both pieces come in sizes 4 to 16 and are mostly still in stock at the time of writing.

Our fashion editor Jodie Dunworth called out nautical coats as a key trend for this autumn/winter, noting that the coolest way to wear them is with smart tailoring and gossamer-thin fabrics. "Finish with gilded accessories to execute this modern seafaring trend with military precision," she said.

Plus, there's plenty more coat inspiration to come from Claudia when she returns to host The Traitors on the BBC on New Year's Day. Once again, we'll be hunting out where to shop all her best looks, so see you then!
