TikTok is one of my favorite ways to learn about must-try grocery products and recipes. My "For You" page often persuades me to try new things, from delicious boxed macaroni and cheese to sweet pea salad, and it’s rare that I am led astray by the recommendations of TikTok foodies. When a new variety of frozen, breaded chicken tenders from Walmart started showing up in my feed, I was eager to give them a try.

Made by Walmart’s Great Value brand, Famous Chicken Fingers are what TikTok calls a dupe—a less expensive version you can make at home. Lovers of these often-sold-out chicken tenders say they taste exactly like the chicken fingers served at fast food chain Raising Cane’s.

Raising Cane’s Copycat Chicken Fingers at Walmart

While Great Value Famous Chicken Fingers are often sold out online, I was able to snag a bag while putting together my weekly Walmart+ grocery order in the Walmart app. A few days later, when shopping at Walmart in person, I saw the yellow bag in the store’s freezer section as well, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for.

The three-pound bag of breaded, white meat chicken tenders costs about $13 and is full of perfectly battered chicken tenders that are frozen raw and need to be cooked in the oven or air fryer. I followed the instructions on the bag and cooked my chicken tenders at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) in my air fryer for about 18 minutes and the result was well-cooked, golden brown chicken tenders.

How Do Great Value Famous Chicken Fingers Taste?

Our closest Raising Cane’s is over an hour’s drive from my home, but my kids love the fast food chain’s chicken tenders so much that we often stop for them when we’re in the area. Walmart’s Raising Cane’s dupe tastes a lot like the real thing and is probably a bit more healthy since the tenders are air-fried instead of deep-fried in oil.

Crispy and golden on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside, the chicken tenders are, indeed, really good. Since securing my own bag of the viral TikTok dupe, I’ve tried the breaded tenders dipped in barbecue sauce and spicy ranch, and both were delicious accompaniments.

Especially if, like me, you don’t live close to a Raising Cane’s location, these chicken tenders are a great way to get a fresh-tasting, delicious chicken finger experience in your own kitchen, no drive-thru required.

Ways to Use Great Value Famous Chicken Fingers

These chicken tenders taste extra fresh because they're cooked raw instead of reheated like most breaded, frozen chicken products. They're really delicious on their own, dipped in your favorite sauce. They can also be paired with frozen fries or served with boxed macaroni and cheese to make a complete meal.

These extra-fresh and flavorful chicken tenders would also make a great addition to a pasta dish like chicken Parmesan. They could also be air-fried and chopped up to top a green salad with crispy protein. Because they can be stored in the freezer and come in a generous, 3-pound bag, there's plenty of chicken to cook with in your own kitchen, and you can get more than one meal from the yellow bag of frozen goodness.

As is usually the case, TikTok did not lead me astray in sharing this Raising Cane's copycat product. When they're in stock, Great Value Famous Chicken Fingers will definitely be going into my Walmart shopping cart.
