Wait, were there 5 engagements we didn't see on Love Is Blind UK?
We're mere hours away from the final episodes of Love Is Blind UK, where we finally find out which couples make it down the aisle and say 'I do'. But one participant is claiming there were five additional couples who got engaged that weren't shown on screen. Excuse me? Where are the extended episodes? Where are the weddings? Give us the receipts, Netflix!
The dating show sees participants go on a series of speed dates in 'blind pods', where they can't see the person they're talking to, in the hope of forming an emotional connection over a physical one. After a number of days, they whittle down their choices to the person they have the strongest connection with, get engaged, and then meet for the first time.
The couple then head on honeymoon, before moving in together. Four weeks later is their wedding day (which is legally binding, btw), where they're faced with the biggest decision of their lives. Do they say 'I do', and get married to the person they've known for a month, or call things off on their wedding day?
At the end of episode eight, there are six couples left in Love Is Blind UK: Bobby and Jasmine, Steven and Sabrina, Freddie and Catherine, Ollie and Demi, Tom and Maria and Nicole and Benaiah.
But now, a fellow contestant has alleged there were five other couples who got engaged in the pods, and weren't shown. Wait, what! According to a TikTok posted by Shirley, a 27-year-old junior doctor from London, "I've had quite a few questions across TikTok and Instagram asking what happened to me on Love Is Blind, because you see a little bit of me in the lounge but you don't see any of my romantic journey.
"I'm ready to talk. Did I have any dates in the pods? Yes, absolutely. I dated every single one of those people, because that's how it works in the pods. Did I have a romantic connection or a romantic interest? Yes, there was one person. It got to the point where it was them or nothing. Did I get engaged? No I didn't get engaged. Instead, I got dumped."
She continued, "Netflix published a cast of 15 women and 15 men. Although you see a total of six engagements, 11 [couples from] our cast got engaged. There were only four of us who did not get engaged - and I was one of them. So that's a little bit embarrassing!"
Shirley went on to explain that because there are only 11 episodes of Love Is Blind UK, certain stories are prioritised by producers, because going into detail about what happened for her in the pods. Watch her full TikTok here:
