A video shows a Michigan family rescuing a deer that fell in icy water.

The rescue occurred last Friday in Cedarville Bay, located in the state's Upper Peninsula, according to reports.

Two brothers, Jeff and Greg Lipple, worked for hours to rescue the shivering animal floating in the frigid water. Jeff used a rope and ladder but had no luck.

"She'd come close to me but never let me put anything over her head or touch her," Jeff said in the video posted by Island View Resort on Facebook. "I eventually put the ladder into the water, hoping maybe she would scramble her water up somehow... but she never did."

The brothers pulled the deer out, but it fell through the ice again

Greg used a kayak to get close and corner the deer near the edge. Jeff used the rope to pull the animal out.

Once freed, the brothers celebrated while the deer ran on the slippery ice to safety. However, seconds later, it fell through again.

"This time, when she fell through, it was a small hole and easy to walk up to her, rope her, and get her right back out," Jeff continued.

The deer then gently galloped into the woods: "A little wobbly but sweet, sweet land," he said.
