Victoria Beckham celebrates her 50th with Spice Girls reunion
We're hardly surprised that Victoria Beckham knows how to throw a party, but we weren't expecting the Spice Girls reunion she treated us to while celebrating her 50th birthday on Saturday (20 April).
The singer and fashion designer's big bash was a predictably star-studded affair, with the likes of Eva Longoria, Tom Cruise and Gordan Ramsay joining her former bandmates. Rosie Huntington-Whitley and Salma Hayek was also seen at the event, which was held at glitzy Mayfair private members' club Oswald's.
But A-list guests aside, the real highlight came when Victoria joined Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown and Geri Horner for an impromptu rendition of their hit 1998 single "Stop", complete with the dance moves we can all still do in our sleep.
Ever the dutiful husband of Instagram, David did the honours of recording this iconic moment and posting it to his 87.2m followers.
Best of all, Mel B hinted at a reunion tour, resharing the video as an Instagram story with the hashtag #tourdatescomingsoon. Though yet to be confirmed, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls' formation in 1994, so watch this space...
Elsewhere, Victoria was seen posing for photos with her family – David and their four children Brooklyn, 25; Romeo, 21; Cruz, 19; and Harper, 12 – and friends. Everyone was dressed to impress in black tie, but Posh stole the show in a romantic mint green gown that played straight into the recent red carpet trend for sheer dresses.
The birthday girl's closest friends, including Eva and Rosie, wore Victoria Beckham – Eva chose a black slip dress with lacy cut-out details while Rosie looked beautiful in a pale pink halterneck number with a sheer skirt.
Come the end of the night, David was Victoria's knight in a tuxedo, giving her a piggy back out of the venue. She had arrived on crutches after breaking her foot in the gym back in February.
On her 50th birthday itself, last Wednesday 17 April, Victoria took to Instagram to share how #blessed she felt with her fans, and thank her family for all their 'unconditional love and support'.
Her post read: 'As I get ready to step into 50 (in heels, of course!), I feel so incredibly blessed to have reached this milestone. Blessed, but also accomplished and deeply content. Not just of where I am as a woman, but of how far my fashion and beauty brands have come.
'My ambition was always to empower women and make them feel like the best version of themselves. To me, that meant trusting my instinct and never compromising on my creative vision.
'I believe that you can be many things. A pop star, a mother, a wife, a designer… My passion has always been to dream big, then dream even bigger! Believe in yourself first — everyone else will follow.
