Vicky Pattison supported as tearful star slams trolls accusing her of faking illness
Vicky Pattison ’s fans have rallied behind her as she slams “pathetic and "ignorant" trolls over her battle with PMDD. The former Geordie Shore star has been open about her experience with the condition online, and last week, spoke about her battles with the mental aspect of PMDD on Good Morning Britain.
After being hit with cruel comments, the 37-year-old has taken to social media to address the trolls further. The star shared a number of photos of the star in tears, as well as in her underwear, showing off her stomach. She opened up that her condition makes her feel “worthless” and that it convinces her that “the world would be a better place without her in it.”
In the lengthy caption, Vicky penned: “I've debated posting this for awhile, as quite frankly it's a little bit dark & I know everyone is probably in a Christmassy place & just wants to be thinking about mulled wine & pigs in blankets but after the reaction to the WEC's report last week I thought I'd share & honest insight into what people suffering with PMDD go through.

“Because if I have to read one more ignorant comment from some sad keyboard warrior saying 'here we go, another celeb inventing a condition to stay relevant' or 'we all get a period every month, just get on with it'- I think I'll scream. I'm not new to this industry & I've had my fair share of criticism over the years. I'd like to think I've developed a thick skin when it comes to trolling. However what annoys me most about these pathetic comments is the message it sends. That women who talk openly & honestly about their pain are fantasists, dramatic or just after attention.
“Grow up. It's 2024 & women have too much going on in their lives- impressive jobs, busy social calendars, children, partners, pets, passions & everything in between to have time to PRETEND to be struggling. Furthermore, from experience I know the level of pain & desperation most women have to be experiencing to speak up. Because we've been conditioned for years to believe we just need to 'suck it up' and 'get on with it.'”
Concluding the post, Vicky penned: “If you can't give these women the empathy and compassion they deserve I really suggest you say nothing. Or educate yourself. Because your misogyny is showing hun.”
After the vulnerable post, Vicky was supported by fans in the comments as one penned: “Endo warrior here your posts are so powerful and I love it. The best way to spread awareness for us all and you are such an inspiration xx."
Another wrote: “Oh Vicky... I would hug you so tight if you'd let me, woman to woman, just for some comfort, understanding and strength to get through the hard days.. Don't worry about what kind of mother you would be. Maybe you're one of the Lucky ones for whom pregnancy changes your hormone levels/body/adjusts your brain/emotions... No one know sweetie. Never give up.”
On her appearance on GMB, Vicky revealed how she was ‘dismissed’ and ‘made to feel ashamed’ about her condition for five years. “for the majority of the time it was men,” she said.
“I think they lack an understanding and empathy towards what we’re going through as women, whether that be someone suffering with PMDD , adenomyosis , endometriosis – the list is absolutely endless," she said.
