Vicky McClure marries partner Jonathan Owen in "amazing" wedding
Line of Duty actress Vicky McClure has confirmed that she has married her partner Jonny Owen.
Vicky, who plays DI Kate Fleming in the BBC drama, has been engaged to the Welsh producer and director since 2017. She announced the news of their wedding on her Instagram.
"Tied up in Notts!!!" she wrote alongside two photos of the couple from the ceremony. "Best. Day. Ever!!!!!"
The wedding was attended by Vicky's Line of Duty co-stars Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston. Jonny's daughter, BBC Radio Wales presenter Katie Owen, was also there, but she had to leave early to present a show.
Not wanting her to feel left out, Vicky hilariously called up to the show from the wedding party to update her as to what was going on.
"We're married! We’ve had the most amazing special day and we're gutted you had to go back but we're so proud of you," she said. "You're missing lots of dancing Katie, but we can do that again."
Vicky's Our Dementia Choir performed at the wedding. The actress formed the choir in 2019 after learning about how music can help people with the condition, before featuring them in multiple documentaries.
Martin praised his co-star for "sharing their moment with the dementia team" and also posted some amusing photos from the wedding, including one of Vicky drinking from a can of beer.
Captioning the pictures, he wrote on Instagram: "Incredible day in Notts celebrating the best of people @vicky.mcclure and @jonathanowen71 nuptials, first dance with the dementia choir was just beautiful and says everything about the two of them sharing their moment with the dementia team, a few shandies were had afterwards."
Vicky's This Is England co-star Thomas Turgoose also shared some pictures featuring him alongside other This Is England actors and the caption: "We do love a This Is England wedding."
