Until I Kill You Locations: Where is London-set ITV1 true crime drama really filmed
A new drama, Until I Kill You, is beginning on ITV1 and follows the extraordinary and disturbing true story of Delia Balmer, who survived a near-fatal relationship with murderer John Sweeney. Delia is being played by talented actress Anna Maxwell Martin and Endeavour's Shaun Evans is playing John.
Although the drama is set in London, where John and Delia had their relationship, it was actually filmed in a Welsh city. The drama was filmed in Swansea because of its resemblance to 1990s London.
Executive producer Simon Heath explained why Swansea was chosen to replicate 1990s London. He said: "The whole series is shot around Swansea. Partly this was a cost decision, but partly it’s based on the fact that north London (where Delia’s story took place) no longer resembles the North London of the 1990s, which I knew very well.

"The locations were extremely convincing, to the point where I couldn’t believe the location pictures weren’t actually taken in North London. It’s amazing how the architecture matches up and has the right period feel."
Key filming locations include near the Dylan Thomas House and the streets in and around the Uplands area of the city, which doubled for Delia's flat and house in Hampstead. Producer of the show Ken Horn described this area as "the streets around there are very kind of regency Edwardian streets."
Other locations include The Strand, which was used to replicate Camden high street, with London buses and London taxis added to the set, and Wind Street. Swansea bars Kon Tiki and No Sign Wine Bar were also used in the drama.
The Swansea Coroner's Court was used as the Old Bailey with panelling added onto the walls. Ken also explained Swansea was used as it is tricky to film in London and said the crew was mostly made of local Welsh people, calling it "a really lovely shoot".
Inside scenes were shot in a studio called Dragon's Studio, which is just outside of Cardiff. Anna Maxwell Martin said she loved filming in Swansea, which you can read about here, and Until I Kill You begins at 9pm on Sunday, November 3 on ITV1 and runs until Wednesday, November 6.
On Thursday, November 7 there's an accompanying documentary, Until I Kill You: The Real Story, on at 9pm. For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.
