Ukrainian Fashion Week is set to return this September

For the first time since the Russian invasion took place over two years ago, Ukrainian Fashion Week is returning in physical form to Kyiv this Sunday. The event – which used to take place twice annually – will see the spring/summer 2025 collections presented through a series catwalk shows and presentations from 1 to 4 September.

"Despite missile attacks, air raid sirens and daily challenges, our commitment remains to support our designers with their creativity and business growth," explains Iryna Danylevska, founder and CEO of Ukrainian Fashion Week. "Our resilience is a testament to the strength and unbreakable spirit of Ukrainian designers."

Over the past two years, Ukrainian Fashion Week has taken place in some form in a number of other fashion capitals, including London, Berlin and Copenhagen, as part of the 'Support Ukrainian Fashion' campaign, but this season marks a hopeful return to its home city, a moment which will stand as a powerful message of resilience for all involved.

"We highly appreciate the solidarity of the global fashion industry that has supported us in these challenging times," Danylevska added. "We aim to showcase the creative power and courage of the Ukrainian fashion scene to the world, bringing Ukrainian Fashion Week back to Kyiv. The voice of Ukraine has to be heard."

On the schedule this season will be some of the most well-known Ukrainian designers who have been continuing to work through these unimaginably challenging times. Names include Kseniaschnaide, Frolov and Gunia Project, as well as a number of up-and-coming designers, who will come together in a display of unity.

The event will kick off with a particularly symbolic occasion which will see young designers — participants of the New Names platform — along with their models, proudly walk through the heart of Kyiv, culminating on the steps of the Ukrainian House at European Square. Once there, they will be joined by established Ukrainian brands. This, a spokesperson for Ukrainian Fashion Week explained is to "reinforce their devotion to the ideals of freedom and faith in the future of the country".
