U.K. Police Officers Get Emotional Support Dogs To Help Them Through Trauma

U.K. Police Officers Get Emotional Support Dogs To Help Them Through Trauma. Wiltshire Police have some adorable new members of their team - emotional support dogs who help officers get through the trauma they experience when policing. They have launched an OK9 Wellbeing and Trauma Support Dog Network to help support the mental health of officers and staff. Many roles within the Force are demanding and sometimes dangerous, with many officers frequently exposed to trauma. OK9 was started by Oscar Kilo, the National Police Wellbeing Service, to help to provide light relief from the stress of police work. Among the helpful hounds is Cavalier King Charles spaniel Teyha - whose cute antics have been a real hit with officers in the South West. There are currently more than 150 OK9 Wellbeing dogs across the country, with Wiltshire Police's Wellbeing dogs adding to that already impressive number.
