TV star’s cause of death revealed days after shock passing at 66
90 Day Fiancé star David Murphey’s cause of death has been revealed, just days after his shock passing at 66. The star, best known for his appearance on the hit show 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, passed away from heart related problems including cardiac arrhythmia and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, per a Clark County, Nevada spokesman statement to TMZ.
The publication reports that the star had a history of pulmonary embolism, blockage in a lung artery caused by a blood clot elsewhere in the body. Due to the findings, the former reality star’s cause of death has been ruled as natural.
Sources also told the publication that the star had been diagnosed with liver cancer a year prior to his death, along with a number of other health issues.

David rose to fame when he starred on the hit US TLC series 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days in 2020, where he finally met Ukrainian women Lana, who he had started a relationship with online. However, things didn’t get off to a great start as Lana failed to show up to a number of meetings.
When he found out her address had turned out to be fake, David even went to the lengths of hiring a Private Investigator, thinking Lana was a catfish.
However, the pair finally met during David’s fifth visit to Ukraine, and got engaged before calling it quits. The reports come just a day after the star’s family announced his death with a statement on social media with a touching statement, in which they said he would be ‘deeply missed’.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that David Murphey, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at home on December 11, 2024 after experiencing health issues over the last several years. He was 66 years old,” they wrote. “David was a veteran, small business owner, and software engineer.
“He had recently retired from the Clark County Treasurer’s office in Nevada, having also worked for H&R Block and IGT. He was also well known for his time as a cast member on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.”

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and fans. David has survived by his two sisters and his cat Gamera. The family asked for privacy during this difficult time.”
