TV Host Maria Menounos & Husband Are Expecting First Child Via Surrogate After Fertility Struggles
Major congratulations are in order for Maria Menounos and her husband, Keven Undergaro.
According to People magazine, the TV host, 44, is preparing to welcome her first child via surrogate after years of fertility struggles. “Just after a decade of trying everything, we are so grateful to the beautiful family helping us conceive our baby,” she told the mag. “Keven, my dad and I are all beyond excited for this soul to come into our lives. What a blessing.”
Menounos shared an exclusive video with People featuring herself and her father, Constantinos, admiring the ultrasound. “Oh, my God,” Menounos said in the video. “Guys, that’s my baby. I love you.”
She added, “It’s so different when you see the reel. It’s more personal when you see it in the womb, right?”
Menounos also appeared on a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan (see below), where she confirmed that she’s expecting her first child. “We had a lot of plans,” she said. “We were going to go to Greece in the summer, but we’re having to move that up because we're having a baby.”
Menounos has previously shared details about her decade-long IVF journey. “I definitely didn’t think it was going to take this long. It’s been years. We’ve used different services, different people,” she said. “It’s just been a very frustrating process.”
In 2018, the TV personality revealed that she and Undergaro were looking into surrogacy. She even received advice from Kim Kardashian, who had two kids via surrogate. “I was grateful that I had her to share and help me,” Menounos added.
Congrats, Maria and Keven!
