Trust us, you will not recognise Emma Stone with her newly-dyed jet-black hair
In the past, world-renowned actor, Emma Stone and legendary film director, Yorgos Lanthimos have created cinematic masterpiece after cinematic masterpiece (read: The Favourite, 2018 and Bleat, 2022). And now in the works is the dynamic duo's third movie creation: Poor Things – soon to be released later this year.
While we're yet to be granted a look at the film's trailer (any day now, folks), the first photo stills have made their rounds on social media – and to say we were shocked would be an understatement. Nadia Stacey, hair and makeup designer for the upcoming film, recently took to her Instagram feed to share a post of three stills; two of which feature a major hair transformation from Emma.
So long her cropped red bob, for what's to come is worlds apart from all we know:
And no, that is not the New Zealand singer, Lorde, as most are mistaking her for on Twitter...
As we can see, Emma's locks have been transformed with what we're assuming are extra long hair extensions or even a wig. The midnight blue/black colour paired with the extreme lengths are giving raven vibes, to the max.
In terms of styling, Nadia has opted to add rough-dried mermaid waves into Emma's hip-skimming tresses, giving the look extra dimension and an effortless feel. Not to mention that her eyebrows have undergone a dye job, too! The full works for movie magic, hey.
We cannot wait to see Emma and her locks in action come late summer...
Poor Things' expected cinema release date is 8, September, 2023.
