Since its debut five years ago, Jones Road Beauty has quickly become a standout in the beauty industry, capturing attention with its minimalist philosophy and promise of glowy, grown up makeup, no matter your skin type. Founded by legendary makeup artist Bobbi Brown, the brand’s launch marked a milestone – 25 years after Brown sold her original line to Estée Lauder, where it remains today.

With Jones Road, Brown set out to simplify beauty routines with hard-working, nourishing products that are totally fool-proof. From a concealer that you can literally scribble on the go to filter-esque bronzing balm, there's good reason we've given the products so many beauty awards over the years. While the brand has expanded into skincare and even merch, its makeup offerings continue to steal the spotlight.

If you’re yet to try the brand, then the question will likely remain for you: Is Jones Road truly worth the hype? Three women from Women's Health have been putting the products to the test, and the verdict is in – this brand is as legit as it gets. Keen to know which products have earned a permanent spot in their makeup bags? Read on to find out...

How We Test Jones Road Products

To find the best Jones Road makeup products we tested the entire range for months to see how they faired in terms of formula, pigment pay off, how easy it was to use and how long it lasted. We also examined shade range as well as any ingredients that would help to nourish the skin.

Miracle Balm All-Over Glow

'I honestly can't get over how good this product is. At first glance, I was dubious because I thought it would feel greasy and look too shimmery. But then, this is Bobbi Brown we’re talking about, so of course, it's brilliantly thought out. It glides on effortlessly, adding instant warmth to my skin, but its real magic is in the soft-focus sheen it leaves behind – like your skin, but better. Akin to a filter IRL, if you will. I'm totally hooked on this product'.

The Brow Gel

'I sometimes find that brow gel formulas offering incredible hold can start to peel or flake throughout the day, which is less than ideal. On the other hand, those that don’t flake often fail to keep my brow hairs lifted in the desired shape. Pleasingly, this one hits the sweet spot. The formula is non-drying, yet my brows hold their shape, even when I’m at the gym. I also love that it doesn’t interfere with any brow pencils I wear underneath.'

Lip and Cheek Stick

'This has over 5k 5-star reviews on the Jones Road website, and after using it, it's easy to see why. The formula is creamy yet lightweight, easy to blend, and perfect if you want that pulled-together look. My only gripe is the price. It seems more expensive compared to the rest of the range, and it's not that dissimilar from Pat McGrath's Divine Blush, which is cheaper.'

The Neutralizer Pencil Goodbye Dark Circles

'I’m prone to rosacea flare-ups, which have only gotten worse with age. While stripping back my skincare routine always helps, I find this pencil balances my colour perfectly and can be blended in with either fingers or a brush. It cleverly disguises any redness and, crucially, lasts from the moment I hop on the train to work until I'm rushing home to collect my kids. It’s also great for brightening dark under-eye patches.'

Shimmer Face Oil

'I use this almost every day, even when I’m not wearing any other make-up. The shimmer and slight colour brightens up my face.' Claire Sanderson, WH Editor-In-Chief

What The FoundationTinted Moisture Balm

'I first reviewed this product two years ago and my thoughts haven't changed. I still absolutely love it. It's so nourishing it feels just like a moisturiser, and it doesn’t sit on the skin like others I’ve tried. It’s perfect for my perimenopausal complexion that can.'

Gel Liner

'Gel liners, especially those in a pot, may seem intimidating, but Jones Road has made things easy with its latest launch. I’ve worked my way through many formulas, and I can confidently say this is one of the creamiest gels I’ve come across. Without snagging or pulling your lid, it seamlessly glides on and deposits a bold pigment that lasts for the day [my favourite is the shade Brown – a rich chocolate hue that subtly elevates my lash line]. I’d also recommend using the brand’s angled brush to ensure a precise line.'

The Lip Pencil

'Nothing completes my makeup more than a great lip liner – they’re the MVP for making my lips appear more defined and plumper. I’ve tried some great players but Jones Road’s The Lip Pencil is the one I reach for the most. Yes, the pigment lasts and, yes the formula glides on seamlessly. But what has me really hooked is the stunning selection of nude hues. Perfect for every skin tone, the shades are designed to enhance your natural lip colour while adding a matte finish that appears velvety and soft.'
