This cold press juicer is affordable, efficient, compact...and currently over 40% off
One of my favorite appliances is a cold press juicer. While normal centrifugal juicers use tiny teeth to cut into the fruit or vegetable, cold press juicers use a spiraling auger to essentially crush the produce, which typically yields more juice and results in less waste. It also tends to be a lot quieter. Unfortunately, slow cold press juicers usually go for $300 or more. Fortunately, however, there is a budget model that works just as well. It's the Tribest Shine, and it's currently just $113 — 43% off its usual price of $200.
For those who are new to juicing, this is the perfect entry-level model. Plus, since it only has a 5.5-inch footprint, it's great for small kitchens. There are certainly cheaper brands out there, but the Shine is made by Tribest, one of the most well-known and trusted juicer brands on the market, which is why I'm inclined to trust this one more than others.
Just because it's small doesn't mean it lacks in power. It has a 200 watt motor, which is powerful enough to churn up celery and carrots with ease. It even handles leafy vegetables like kale and spinach. Like most slow juicers, do note that you need to chop up the fruits and vegetables before feeding them into the chute. However, you can minimize this chore if you buy your veggies pre-cut.
Since it's so small and compact, you're also likely to use it more often. Take it from this this lazybones. "I had been making our morning juice — ginger, lemon, carrot — once a week in my big Breville juicer. It’s too big to sit on the counter, and heavy to take out and put away. That bugger is HEAVY. I wanted a small juicer to leave out on the counter.... After watching a couple of YouTubes on this one, I decided to take a chance," they continued. "I’m in love! It handles the ginger and carrots like a champ. Sometimes I do limes alone, and those work, too, peelings and all. It’s actually faster than the Breville, because I don’t have to turn it off and on to keep pulp from flying around the kitchen."
It's also small enough to bring on travels. This globetrotter knows the score: "I was traveling to another country and did not want to be without my juicer, so did my research for a vertical, masticating, low rpm (very important) juicer that would be compact and light enough to carry in a carry-on bag and still be powerful enough to meet the standards of a full-size juicer. This one did not disappoint!... Additionally, it is really quiet. Don't think twice — buy it!"
