New York Fashion Week: The ultimate SS18 trend guide

All eyes, iPhone lenses and Snapchat filters are on New York City. Yes, the Big Apple has surrendered to biannual Fashion Week hysteria. And it’s no wonder, as the home to some of the world’s biggest brands has hosted a series of knock-out shows.

Victoria Beckham led the fash pack astray earlier this week with a candy-coloured collection inspired by daughter-turned-muse Harper. While Raf Simons sent Calvin Klein models down the catwalk in paint-splattered cowboy boots that wouldn’t look out of place in a horror film.

And then there was Rihanna. Certainly keen to ensure her latest Fenty x Puma show would make the rounds on social media, the singer introduced the crowds to Instagrammable millennial pink sand dunes and epic motorcycle stunts aplenty. Not even the offerings of free popcorn could pry the fash pack’s eyes from the runway…

But as the spectacle draws to a close (and the fashion elite flock to London), we examine the New York Fashion Week trends to take home this season.

From sorbet-inspired hues to a new definition of ‘fast fashion’, these are the style notes to jot down before hitting the shops.
