Travis Kelce Says Taylor Swift’s Support Makes Him ‘Play Harder’
On Friday, February 2, Travis Kelce shared at a press conference how building memories with girlfriend Taylor Swift while playing this season pushed him to work harder for a chance at winning Super Bowl LVIII.
“It’s another memory in the journey that we get to cherish,” Kelce said of having his friends, family, and girlfriend run onto the field following the Kansas City Chiefs' win at the AFC Championship. “I’m fortunate I got all the support I need off the field.”
He added that their support gives him “a reason to play that much harder” in the big game. In addition to receiving a warm kiss and hug from Swift, Kelce was joined by his parents Donna and Ed Kelce and brother Jason Kelce. Since late September, Swift has been attending many of the Chiefs' games, 12 in all. The Super Bowl is scheduled for Sunday, February 11, in Las Vegas, and the Chiefs will face off against the San Francisco 49ers.
Swift will have a tight squeeze to be there in time, because she is resuming her Eras Tour in Japan at the Tokyo Dome on Wednesday, February 7. Her last show there is on Saturday, February 10.
It's believed that she'll still make the effort to be there, but Kelce is officially unable to attend the 2024 Grammys on February 4. Swift has been nominated for six awards this year, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Album of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show at the end of January, Kelce said, “I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for. I know I got practice on Saturday but Sunday is a travel day. Unfortunately, I got to get ready for this big old Super Bowl.”
