Despite not managing to take The Traitors cash prize, Alexander Dragonetti has emerged as one of the most memorable candidates ever to take part in the BBC series.

The winners of the show's third series were revealed in a jaw-dropping finale last night, as Leanne and Jake took home the jackpot of £94,600.

Tumbling into shrubbery, showcasing his opera skills, or displaying surprising speed, the ex-British diplomat Alexander Dragonetti has provided some of this series' most memorable moments. His unwavering politeness in the face of conflict at the Round Table has even earned him the title of the 'people's princess' from fans, reported Surrey Live.

The 38-year-old Londoner shared his reasons for taking part in the series with the BBC before entering the Traitors mansion. "I've lived around the world in different countries. I hope this will be something I'll enjoy... and if not, it'll be something new," he said.

"Secondly, I think it would be fun to bring my diplomatic skills to the game - a diplomat is meant to win people over and be good at influencing and negotiating. And finally, it's a show with heart."

Alexander spoke about his late brother in a touching moment in the series. He planned to donate part of any winnings to The Royal Mencap Society, highlighting how the charity offered invaluable breaks for both his brother and their parents, reports Wales Online.

"I was a carer at Mencap five years running and I really enjoyed it, my brother really enjoyed it and my parents got a break too and I'd like to help bankroll that a bit," he said.

"I'd also like to buy a flat because civil servant salaries are not as large as people think they are!"

Details about his current civil servant role remain under wraps, but in a former position as a Diplomatic Service Officer he could have been on a salary ranging from £35,000 to £47,000. And now that the series has ended, his earnings are expected to skyrocket.

A PR expert has estimated that the star could make more than £500,000 with upcoming brand deals and television gigs.

"It looks like the Faithfuls will win the show, but will they share the winnings? Of the finalists Alexander could do well after the show, viewers seem to like him and popularity will transcend after the show if he makes the right career decisions," commented PR specialist Lyn Carratt.

"I believe he could make in excess of £500,000 this year with TV and brand deals. He could definitely appear on Celebrity SAS."

She added: "I believe other entertaining characters on the show like Linda and Minah will also be able to make in excess of £250,000 this year."
