Tracee Ellis Ross Pops in Vibrant Doll-inspired Look for Marc Jacobs’ 2025 Fashion Show in New York
Tracee Ellis Ross embraced vibrant contrasting colors for the Marc Jacobs spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection show on Monday in New York City. The Pattern Beauty founder joined a bevy of high-profile guests and A-list attendees for the show, held at the historic New York Public Library.
For the occasion, Ross wore a doll-inspired outfit with exaggerated proportions. The “Black-ish” Emmy-nominated star wore a skirt suit look featuring a yellow jacket with large buttons running down the front placket and a sharp, white collar and coordinated cuffs. The skirt featured a lively purple hue and with a structured look, including a slightly flared hemline just below the knee.

Ross wore a pair of black upturned heels with the ensemble and carried a small purse.
As for her glam, the actress and trailblazing icon opted for a slicked-back style with her hair in a tight chignon by hairstylist LaWanda Pierre. Her makeup included bold brows, heavily lined eyes and a soft pink lip to complete the look courtesy of artist Kristy Strate.
Marc Jacobs’ spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection show served as the unofficial kick-off for New York Fashion Week. The runway show, titled “Courage,” was a showcase for the eponymous designer as he leaned into the fearlessness of his approach to fashion.
“Since his early years of designing, courage seems to have been a driving force that has made him a star for more than 40 years,” Emily Mercer wrote in WWD’s review of the collection. “Here, he signified that this perspective guided him to continue to design without limitations and sink further into fearlessness with designs that defied reality-driven proportions on pieces that would have been otherwise mundane.”
Highlights from the collection included, “a fairy-tale-like oversize nightgown; a fur-like chenille sweater with leather bubble miniskirt; an animalistic padded coat (divine!), and show-closing, sculptural dresses.”
