A Townhouse in Taylor Swift’s Former London Neighborhood Just Listed for $12.2 Million
London’s posh Primrose Hill district draws plenty of star power, with the likes of confessional poet Sylvia Plath, Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, and pop phenom Taylor Swift all owning homes in the leafy neighborhood at some point. Among the slew of other famous people who have at one time or another taken up residence in the North London neighborhood are Kate Moss, Noel Gallagher, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Harry Styles. Now, a townhouse on the upmarket village’s most iconic street is up for grabs.
On the market for £10 million (roughly $12.2 million) with Knight Frank and Savills, the Grade II-listed residence belongs to a string of eye-catching, Victorian-era abodes facing Chalcot Square. Located on a corner lot and painted an earthy orange hue, the stately property comprises five bedrooms and four bathrooms across its five floors.

“There is always an element of excitement when a house comes on the market in Chalcot Square,” says Orly Lehmann, head of Belsize Park & Primrose Hill sales at Knight Frank, in a press statement. “As one of the most famous (and most photographed) streets in Primrose Hill, its array of colorful Italianate houses situated around a charming garden square are incredibly sought-after.”
The 4,025-square-foot spread is brimming with old-world details, including ornate cornicing, hand-carved staircases, classical columns, and wide-plank beveled oak flooring. The home also gets tons of sunlight thanks to handcrafted, double-glazed windows. The views over the square aren’t too shabby either. For those who like their historic homes to have a few contemporary luxuries, the house features underfloor heating throughout and is equipped with electric smart controls and a Sonos audio system.

One flight up are all of the entertainment spaces, including an open-plan kitchen and dining area, plus a library. Elsewhere, there are two bedrooms on the second floor, while the primary suite occupies the entire third floor and has access to a private terrace.
Adding to the home’s versatility, the lower ground floor offers two self-contained apartments with a separate entrance that make them ideal for accommodating grandparents, guests, or older children. They would also work well for household staff or as income-producing rentals.
“Properties of these proportions, style, and finish can be hard to come by in the city, and so it is a pleasure to be bringing this family home to the market,” according to Elias Raymond, head of sales at Savills in Primrose Hill. Celeb sightings at the supermarket or corner pub, however, are not guaranteed.
