TOWIE rich list revealed – from star worth £15 million to the one who sadly blew it all

With the latest series of The Only Way Is Essex now in full swing, week after week delighted fans have been able to tune in to all of the drama, fashion and high stakes luxury of the star-studded cast as they take viewers on an inside look at their lives. Since the show’s inception back in 2010, viewers have quickly fallen head over heels for a variety of cast members, with everyone from Mark Wright to Joey Essex and Sam Faiers to Gemma Collins having stolen fans hearts.

Yet while the cast are known for their charm and larger than life personalities, one aspect of their lives that often intrigues fans is how they’ve been capitalising on their on-screen success and funding their luxury lifestyles.

Here, we take a closer look at some of the net worths of the biggest TOWIE stars…

Mark Wright - £15m

When it comes to TOWIE’s top earners, former cast member Mark Wright sits a cut above the rest, with his estimated fortune to be worth in excess of £15million! Although Mark was paid handsomely for his time on the show, much of his personal wealth actually comes from other work as a presenter, football star and even a property developer.

In addition, he has also been at the helm of several businesses over the years including his Train Wright fitness website and the Mesa Active gym wear collection which he runs with his showbiz wife Michelle Keegan.

According to documents filed at Companies House, last year Mark raked in around £2million last year alone, with his company The Wright Look Models Ltd boasting reserves of £2,263,166!

Along with Michelle, Mark is also a joint owner of their stunning £3.5million family home which was recently renovated into a multi-million pound mega mansion.

Samantha Faiers - £9m

One of the original members of TOWIE, Sam Faiers was a huge hit with fans from day one and continued to amass fans and fortune long after she departed the show in 2014. In fact, Sam even became a multi-millionaire long before she hit 30, with the bulk of her wealth coming from a myriad of TV shows and brand collaborations.

In particular her show charting her parenting journey: The Mummy Diaries, propelled her to become a household name with many fans racing to tune into new episodes each and every week. Additionally, Sam also launched a number of clothing lines with River Island, Quiz and Very and even started her own product lines for home furnishings, perfume, baby wear and her very own fashion label.

When she’s not busy starting new businesses, Sam has also proven to be quite the author too, with a string of books to her name raking in well over £750,000.

She also founded Essex based store Minnie’s Boutique, which is currently being run by her sister Billie.

Joey Essex - £8m

Joey Essex has been in the public eye for over 10 years, having first found fame way back in 2011 as a supporting cast member in the second series of TOWIE. Clearly making an impression on fans, Joey was soon promoted to a member of the main cast where he proved to be a firm-favourite with viewers until is eventual departure two years later.

Since leaving the show, Joey continued to remain in the spotlight with appearances in a string of showbiz reality shows including Splash!, Celebs Go Dating and both the Australian and British versions of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

In addition to the established shows, Joey also tried his hand at presenting too when he helmed two documentary series, Educating Joey Essex in 2014 and Joey Essex: Grief and Me in 2021.

As well as his TV credentials, Joey has also embraced his entrepreneurial spirit and launched his own hair care range: Joey Essex: D'Reem Hair, and even earned a pretty penny from several brand deals including with mobile phone network, Three, Jaffa Cakes, McDonald's and Volvic.

Additionally, as an established Influencer on social media with around 1.8million followers, Joey is thought to be able to earn between $10,000 and $15,000 per sponsored post.

In total he is believed to be worth in the region of £8million.

Gemma Collins - £7m

One star who continues to remain a mystery to fans when it comes to her personal wealth is Gemma Collins, with estimates often placing the star anywhere in the region of between £2.7million and £7million.

The fluctuating estimates are largely down to Gemma’s huge number of brand endorsements and deals, with the star having formed her own fashion empire when she released a plus-size clothing collection back in 2012 before later joining forces with fashion brand Boohoo to produce an exclusive collection in 2017.

In addition, Gemma has also partnered with InTheStyle and New Look in the past, launched her own perfume Diva Pink, and even produced a number of health and beauty products including lipstick, false eyelashes even hand sanitisers!

And is that wasn’t enough, Gemma has also been no stranger to our screens since leaving TOWIE back in 2019, with the bubbly blonde having starred in a number of reality shows including Celebrity Big Brother, Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity Masterchef, The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off and Dancing on Ice.

Amy Childs -£5m

Another founding member of the TOWIE line up, is of course Amy Childs who proudly introduced viewers at homes to the 'vajazzle' during her time on the show. Delighting audiences with her trademark charm, Amy went on to become a fashion icon in her own right, with the star wracking up a wealth of around £5million in the years that followed her TV success.

Much of Amy’s wealth comes from fashion and beauty collaborations, with the profits later invested into an impressive property portfolio that saw her buy up huge chunks of Brentwood, Essex to ensure the security of her investment.

Alongside her property purchases, Amy also earned a fair amount of money from the sales of her fitness DVD, Fit in 30 Days, and from her now defunct beauty salon, which sadly closed down in 2021.

Pete Wicks - £4m

Pete Wicks is probably one of the most memorable faces from the reality series, The Only Way is Essex. The 36 year old first joined the star studded show back in 2015 for its 15th series, and became a regular cast member for seven years, before calling it a day in 2022.

During his time on TOWIE, Pete appeared on a slew of other reality shows, including Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity MasterChef, Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls and The Celebrity Circle. Pete also starred in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2022 but had to leave early due to an injury.

According to Popular Net Worth, Pete has an estimated net worth of between £3-4 million.

Aside from his TV work, Pete has been successful in other industries which have helped him earn his money, most famously a podcast with former Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson.

Elsewhere in Pete's business portfolio, he released a book in 2018 called For The Love Of Frenchies: The Dogs That Changed My Life, and has even partnered with several major brands in the past including Crystal Ski Holidays, Just Eat and Sky TV.

Pete also has a modelling career and a social media following of 1.5 million, something which could see him easily earn in excess of £1000 per post.

Billy Shepherd - £3m

Billie Shepherd was a regular alongside her sister Sam Faiers on The Only Way Is Essex when they joined the show in 2010. Billie shot to fame when she joined the second series of the ITVBe reality show, after her sister Sam had been a big hit on the first season.

That wasn’t where her stint in reality TV ended and she and Greg currently star in Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries together, and prior to that they starred alongside Sam and her partner Paul in Sam & Billie: The Mummy Diaries.

According to Daily Feed, Billie is worth £3 million, with the majority of her earnings coming from her reality show deals.

She's believed to have made a ton of money from her appearances on TOWIE, with The Mummy Diaries adding additional income for the TV personality.

Billie also endorses a number of companies, with brands paying her thousands of pounds to promote their business on social media. With over two million Instagram followers, Billie can earn up to £10,000 per sponsored post.

Lucy Mecklenburgh - £3m

One of the original TOWIE stars, Lucy Mecklenburgh is thought to be worth around £3million in total, with the majority of her wealth amassed in the years that followed her exit from the show.

The 32 year old star, who is married to actor Ryan Thomas, is best known for her successful lifestyle brand Results, Wellness, Lifestyle, an online platform that offers fitness plans and dietary advice for people hoping to get into shape.

In addition, Lucy and Ryan currently own a whopping five properties, and the star has previously enjoyed lucrative brand deals with Pretty Little Thing and Ellesse sportswear.

Lauren Goodger - £2m

During Lauren Goodger’s tenure on the show, the much loved reality star actually made TOWIE history by becoming one of the first stars to make £1million as a result of her participation in the show.

Due to her early relationship with Mark Wright, Lauren became a huge hit with magazines around the country and was regularly offered exclusive deals to talk about her fame. After leaving the show, she also went on to find great success on Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing on Ice.

She is currently believed to be worth in the region of £2million.

James ‘Arg’ Argent - £1m

Ever since TOWIE star James Argent bowed out of the show in 2018, the much loved TV icon has gone from strength to strength with his wealth continuing to climb in the years that followed.

As of 2024 he is thought to be worth in excess of £1million with the bulk of his wealth made up from Instagram brand deals and appearances in reality shows such as The Jump and Celebrity Coach Trip, in addition to his own Ltd company.

In the most recent accounts filed for his company, James Argent Ltd, Arg had assets of around £153,081 in the bank, an increase of £36,457 when compared to the previous year.

Tommy Mallet - £1m

One star who hasn’t had such a brilliant run since his time on the show however, is Tommy Mallett, who despite launching a multi-million company, sadly lost the bulk of his fortune after quitting the company.

The TOWIE star, 31, co-founded his shoe business Mallet London in 2015 following his success on the ITV2 scripted reality show, and it has since made him a multi-millionaire. However, in an appearance on the Getting There podcast he claimed that those millions have now gone, and he has "nothing financially at the moment."

Despite having recently shown off his brand new new custom-made Ferrari, Tommy said: "'Ive got nothing financially at the moment. I basically made an acquisition in January, it was quite a big one and it was to buy some shares back for Mallet.

"I put money into Mallet to get my shares back up thinking that I was going to go and basically build the next year, just full force.”
