Holidays feel like a distant fever dream at this point, but when we do get the green light to travel again, we know exactly where the 1% will be staying.

Elite Traveler has just dropped its annual list of the world’s best hotel suites, detailing the 100 suites globally that are the cream of the crop.

Some, like the Royal Penthouse Suite at Hotel President Wilson in Geneva, Switzerland, cost a cool £61,000 per night. You know, just a bit of pocket change.

Seven suites from UK hotels make the list, too. All from London, these suites can be found in high-end hotels like the Rosewood, Mandarin Oriental, Corinthia and The Berkeley.

The UK’s best hotel suites

While there's plenty of luxury to choose from, we picked out the best (and most expensive) of the lot:

Hilltop Villa, Laucala Island in Fiji

(Laucala Island)
Laucala Island is a private island hotel (Laucala Island)

A hotel that’s spread across an entire island in the South Pacific, Laucala Island is the ultimate private retreat.

The Hilltop Villa is the most exclusive spot on the island, sitting on one of its highest points, and includes a master residence, two guest houses, a two-tier pool and a private airstrip.

Those seeking even more privacy can rent out the entire island for themselves, if they like.

Harbour House, Rosewood in Hong Kong

(Rosewood Hotels)
Harbour House has two swimming pools and a private gym (Rosewood Hotels)

Piercing the Hong Kong skyline, Rosewood’s Hong Kong outpost is an architectural marvel.

Harbour House is the 12,000 square-foot suite that sits high in the sky - on the 57th floor to be exact - and has five bedrooms and an infinity pool that overlooks the Kowloon waterfront.

There’s also an additional lap pool, a private gym, wraparound gardens and marble-clad bathrooms.

Royal Penthouse Suite, Hotel President Wilson in Geneva, Switzerland

(Hotel President Wilson)
This penthouse is the most expensive hotel suite in the world (Hotel President Wilson)

The world’s most expensive hotel suite at £61,000 per night. The Royal Penthouse Suite at Hotel President Wilson in Geneva costs more than double the average Brit’s salary per night.

The suite features 12 bedrooms, two dining rooms and several living spaces. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Lake Geneva - best viewed when soaking in the jacuzzi tub.

Privacy is key here, as the suite features bulletproof windows, a private elevator and a panic button.

The Mark Penthouse, The Mark Hotel in New York City, US

(The Mark)
Meghan Markle hosted her baby shower at The Mark's penthouse (The Mark)

If The Mark sounds familiar, it’s probably because this is where Meghan Markle held her star-studded baby shower back when she was pregnant with Archie in 2019.

The suite is set over two floors and features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a stately dining room, full-sized kitchen and a 2,500 square-foot rooftop terrace with views across the New York skyline.

Booking bonuses include exclusive use of the private ice skating rink at The Mark’s roof terrace during the festive period and an exclusive charter of the hotel’s century-old sailboat.

The Muraka Suite, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island in the Maldives

(Conrad Hotels)
Fall asleep with the fishes in the Maldives (Conrad Hotels)

At Conrad Maldives Rangali Island you can, quite literally, sleep with the fishes.

The Muraka Suite is the world’s first underwater suite where you can doze off surrounded by the marine life that swims by just outside its glass walls (yes, that includes sharks).

The suite has two levels, one above water and one below (the latter connected by a spiral staircase and elevator). The above-water suite has two bedrooms, an infinity pool and guests of this suite have exclusive use of a private speedboat.
