Tom Daley knits his son an adorable sweater vest

Tom Daley is a brilliant Olympic diver, but he's also a seriously talented knitter and crocheter – and he's wowed us with the adorable knitted vest he made for his son.

The Made with Love podcast presenter took to his Instagram to share his latest project: a sweet chunky vest he knitted for his son, Robbie.

Tom shared a video of himself making the vest using red, white and blue yarn, and then showed Robbie proudly wearing his new knitwear.

In the video, Tom talks through how he made the vest. He says: "Started off with some measurements, got his shoulders, got his chest. And then he chose his colours: red, white and blue".

Tom goes on to say: "I got to knitting and before too long it started to resemble something of a sweater vest."

He finished the video by saying: "I think it looks really cute, what do you think?"

Tom knitted the sweater vest in a sweet cable knit, with a ribbed and striped hem and collar. If you haven't tried cable knit before, you can check out our cable knitting video tutorial here. It's a great technique for intermediate knitters to master, and allows you to create so many stylish pieces for your wardrobe and home.

Fans were quick to share how much they loved Tom's latest knitting project, with @salamanda001 commenting "Super cute" and @nitavandewetering commenting "Super cute! I wish I could do it!".

Tom is dad to two sons, Robbie and Phoenix, with his husband Dustin Lance Black. This isn't the first time he has impressed us with a knitting project for them – he knitted a baby blanket and cardigan for newborn Phoenix, and the results were adorable.

We can't wait to see what Tom will knit next!
