Toddler's Sneaky Trick for Getting Kisses from the Family Dog Goes Viral (Exclusive)
The adorable video has already amassed more than 2.5 million views
A 16-month-old boy is capturing hearts with his sweet maneuver.
Earlier this week, Emily Suttles noticed her son Brooks running toward a wall in their house and gently bumping his head against it. Then, she saw him venture over to their family dog, Dierks, a husky, who was laying on the couch.
"My son started 'pretending' to hit his head and asking for a kiss to make it feel better from me at first, then realized he can get the dog to kiss him," Emily tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I was like, 'Wow, this kid knows what he’s doing!' "
The mom thought it was the "cutest thing" and decided to capture the next moment on camera. After, she posted the video on TikTok, and to her surprise, it went viral, amassing more than 2.5 million views.
"if my baby doesn't love my dogs like this, it can find a new home," one comment says.
"This is the kind of stuff I used to do as a kid, and now I have a PhD in animal behavior 😂 welcome to the animal loving club my guy! 😂❤️," someone else writes.
Another user replies, "Little does he know that the doggy would kiss him without him having to be hurt 🥺🥰."
Reading through the comments, Emily says she loved seeing how people thought Brooks was "so smart and funny."
"I was shocked it went viral, you always think your kid is the funniest kid ever, I'm glad so many others got to experience it as well," Emily, an account manager living in Rochester Hills, Mich., says.
"I hope people find the innocence and joy from this silly little video and can brighten their day a bit!" she adds.

Looking toward the future, the mom says she hopes the bond between her son and dog only continues to grow, like hers did with her family pets as a kid.
"Dierks is not a 'cuddly' dog, so we were a little nervous bringing a baby around him," she says. "But since the day we brought Brooks home Dierks hasn’t left his side. Brooks yells 'Dierks!' every morning from his crib and Dierks greets him with a kiss once they are reunited everyday."
