The 2020 Oscars were, as ever, a very exciting affair. It was also the night that dad-bod aficionados across the land let out a sigh of disappointment as Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Camila Morrone made their first public appearance together. The notoriously private couple walked the red carpet separately, but were seated together on the front row for the ceremony - this is essentially the closest to PDA Leo and Camila have ever got and it was most definitely a thrill. Right up until the moment where he reached across her to embrace Brad Pitt...
Camila and Leo are so notoriously private that it may surprise you to know that they've actually been together since 2017, and known each other for at least ten years before that.
Here's a detailed look at their relationship over the years - starting with the most recent update.
December 2020: Leo and Camila are still going strong, three years after they started dating. Not only that, the pair are reportedly now living together. A source told E! News, "Leo and Cami are still going strong and doing really well." They added that the actor is "very cosy with Cami and they're serious."
The source explained that he's "filming right now, but Leo has been settling into this domestic life with Cami, as opposed to all the time he used to spend out with his boys," and explained that "he does really like his life with her and they're a lot more coupley than they used to be."
The couple are notoriously private about their relationship, but they were recently spotted taking their dogs for a walk in Los Angeles.
Here's a timeline of the rest of Leonardo DiCaprio and Camila Morrone's relationship:
Camila's then stepdad, Al Pacino, introduces her to his actor friend Leo. Camila is 12 at this point, while Leo would have been about 35, so aside from maybe a game of Uno there's nothing to report here.
Cannes Film Festival is Leo's big stomping ground. He goes full DiCaprio, and by that I mean he gets on a big yacht and smokes lots. In the days running up to Cannes 2017, Leo broke up with his girlfriend Nina Agdal, having met her at Cannes in 2016. And Cannes 2017 is where he was reunited with Camila Morrone, who by now is 19.

Us Weekly reports that Camila and Leo are "hooking up", according to a close source, after the pair were spotted shopping together in LA. While another source claimed that they were just family friends.

Leo and Camila reportedly spend New Year's Eve in Aspen, Colorado, along with his mate Toby Maguire and his kids. The Daily Mail published pictures of the pair leaving a private jet after returning back to LA. Camila also posted pictures to her Instagram showing that she had been in skiing in Aspen.
Camila and Leo attend Ellen Degeneres' birthday party in West Hollywood together. People lose it when he is pictured putting his hand on her back. Still no official update.
Physical contact klaxon!!! While out together in LA, Camila and Leo were photographed linking arms, which sounds extremely platonic but we, the people, were so starved of physical interaction from these two, we'll take what we can get.
'Lamila' (doesn't really work does it?) are spotted getting friendly at Coachella. Still no official update.
Camila and Leo went on a big European holiday together, providing us with some great pictures of Camila seated on a boat in a leopard print bikini, looking flawless and sensational, while Leo sits beside her in a pair of diving goggles.

The two are pictured looking cosy at a Champion's League game between Paris Saint Germain and Liverpool. They sit together and do physical contact. This is the biggest update we've had in almost a year.
They both attend the Cannes Film Festival, although as per standard practice, they don't pose for pictures or do the red carpet together. Camila did do the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood carpet however, and reportedly attended the OUATIH after-party. It was also at this particular Cannes that Leo became a full meme, after a behind the scenes shot of his insta-boyfriend behaviour was caught by onlookers...

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Camila spoke about the meme, saying that she cringes when thinking about it, "Poor thing, he’s being called an Instagram boyfriend! He’s an environmentalist and a movie star and it doesn't mean a thing!"
Camila does another interview, this time with the LA Times, where she addresses people's fascination with her relationship. Since it has been alleged that Leo's girlfriends all sign NDAs, this is a fairly large deal. But, maybe that's why she doesn't give away much; "There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gap... I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date." But acknowledging people's interest in the couple she said, "I probably would be curious about it too."

Camila and Leo both attend the Oscars. Admittedly, they did separate red carpets, but their respective red carpets were in minutes of each other, plus they were very much seated together for the ceremony itself. This was their very first public appearance as a couple, and we were even treated to a close up of the pair when Brad Pitt did a shout out to Leo during his acceptance speech. Spicy!
