TikTok star dies aged 26 on fiancé's birthday after battling cancer
TikTok star Maddy Baloy has passed away following a battle with terminal cancer, her fiancé Louis Risher has announced. In a statement, Louis, 27, wrote: "Madison passed away peacefully last night."
He added that his partner was "surrounded with love" in her life. "She is so special. I turned 27 yesterday, actually," he told People. "I was holding her hand all day and that’s all I needed."
The late social media star had found fame on TikTok, where she had more than 440,000 followers and had collaborated with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and Twilight star Taylor Lautner.
Maddy have been completing a number of items on a bucket list, which included having a meal with Gordon, and sharing these on social media.
Earlier this year shared a meal with famous chef at the opening of his Lucky Cat restaurant in Miami, Florida. She shared some photos of the special occasion to her Instagram page, where she wrote: "The best night of my life! @gordongram thank you endlessly for giving me the biggest yes, Chef."
Responding to the post, Gordan commented: "What an absolute pleasure, I’m so glad you had a great time @fruitsnackmaddy also it’s the first time I’ve ever danced in my kitchen thx"
And in February she shared that she had ticked guest-starring on a podcast off of her bucket list, when she appeared on The Squeeze Podcast with Taylor Lautner and his wife Taylor Dome.
Sharing some photos of herself with the two Taylors at the time of recording, she wrote: "THE SQUEEZE! I’ve been sitting on the most special secret ;) I’m so excited to finally tell you - our podcast episode will be OUT THIS WEEK. To the Lautners; thank you for being the very first 'Yes.'
"The most beautiful, genuine, hard working, down to earth, and COOLEST people I’ve ever met. I can’t wait for you all to hear about what I’ve done with the lemons I was given ;)"
Commenting on this, the actor had sweetly written: "Never in our wildest dreams did we think we’d get to have conversations with someone as powerful as you. I learned so much from you and cannot thank you enough for gracing us with your presence. Love you."
In her final TikTok video, posted in March this year, Maddy shared that she had been visiting Kyoto, Japan. In the video she explained that due to surgery she hadn't been able to take a bath in over a year.
Sharing that she planned to change that, she told viewers: "I'm in Japan for a very limited amount of time. I'm here on Earth for a limited amount of time. And I don't want to be afraid to take a bath. So come take a bath with me."
