Much like the rest of the internet (and Prince William), Netflix's Tiger King was all we could talk about for a good six weeks. And it doesn't look like the pandemonium is going anywhere soon.

After Nicholas Cage was announced as Joe Exotic in the upcoming dramatisation, The Hollywood Reporter teased another Netflix documentary about the big cat world, this time focussing on a 2003 tiger mauling attack that ended the Las Vegas entertainment show, Siegfried & Roy.

According to the report, the filmmakers behind Tiger King are working on more true life animal content for Netflix, this time with more of a focus on the captivity of wild cats.

Wildlife veterinarian Dr. James Liu apparently reached out to THR as a new member of the Tiger King team, looking for contact details for Chris Lawrence - a tiger handler who worked on Siegfried and Roy’s show.

Liu explained that the new episode hopes to balance out criticism of Tiger King, which came under fire for glossing over the savage treatment of wild animals. "[The new show aims to be a] higher-minded corrective to both the original seven-episode series as well as comedian Joel McHale’s after show special," he explained.

Following the initial release of Tiger King, director Eric Goode shared his disappointment on the sensationalisation of the show. “I went into this to explore a different side of the animal world in terms of wild animals in captivity,” he told Vanity Fair.

“After spending years with these subjects, the project moved in a different direction. Netflix is very adept at making binge-worthy television and with these larger-than-life subjects that was pretty easy to do. However, my goal is and has always been the same, which is to raise awareness and help save the species.”

In October 2003, a white tiger attacked illusionist and magician Roy Horn while on stage, leaving him with severe wounds to the neck.

Is it weird to say we're excited?
