Three-year-old girl requests poo-themed party so her parents throw her one

Forget princesses, unicorns and Disney (so basic), today’s little girls are all about poo-themed parties.

Or one is at least.

For when young Audrey from Missouri was asked how she wanted to celebrate her third birthday, her response was somewhat surprising: “poop.”

“For months, every time we mentioned her party, Audrey requested ‘poop balloons and a poop cake,’” Audrey’s mum Rebecca told The Huffington Post. “I tried suggesting other themes, but she always insisted on poop.”

So the couple decided to avoid tantrums and “embrace the weird” by throwing Audrey a poo-themed party.

And what a party it was.

Audrey’s parents went all out - they bought a poo emoji-shaped piñata (filled with brown sweets and chocolates), served a cake covered in poo-shaped icing, guests took home whoopie cushions as party gifts, and they played a “pin the poop in the toilet” game.

If that wasn’t enough, Rebecca even dressed up as a giant, smiling poo.

Unsurprisingly, everyone loved the party: “I expected the grandparents to question it, but they all just laughed when I told them,” Rebecca said.

After sharing a snap on Instagram, the world went mad largely with respect both for Audrey and her parents.

“I told her that a bunch of people are looking at pictures of her poop party and think it’s so funny and cool,” Rebecca, who didn’t reveal the family’s last name, told blog Scary Mommy.

In a time when parents often seem to be competing with others to see who can throw the most perfect party for their children so it looks good on Instagram, Rebecca’s poo party provides some welcome relief.

“It was Audrey’s party, so we wanted it to be something that she would love,” Rebecca told CBS News. “I love that we’ll look back at pictures and it will represent our quirky girl at three.”
