This photo of the 'royal family' in Christmas jumpers is creeping the Internet out

A visit to Madame Tussauds can be creepy at the best of times – it’s practically seeing your favourite celebrities all in the same building, frozen in time.

And this year the wax museum has decided to make things a bit festive by dressing up their waxworks in Christmasy gear, including the royal family themselves.

The gallery decided to dress up all of them in typically ugly yuletide jumpers – and it’s rather unsettling.

The Queen, for example, is wearing a green woolly number picturing a corgi wearing a crown, while Harry’s got his very own cute penguin jumper.

Meanwhile the corgis, of course, have their very own knitwear.

The very strangest of all, however, are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – who seem to wearing a sweater built for two, making them look conjoined.

While Tussauds attendees will be used to gazing at the Kate Middleton waxwork in a navy blue knee-length dress and William in a suit, this garish blue, green and red Christmas jumper is something else entirely.

But whether these will have given us nightmares or not it’s all for a good cause – it’s to celebrate Save The Children U.K.’s Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser on Friday 16 December.

“We are delighted to support Save The Children by having our royal wax figures join in with the Christmas Jumper Day campaign in a seriously stylish way,” Edward Fuller, general manager of Madame Tussauds London, told People.

Helena Wiltshire, head of PR at Save the Children, added: “Who knows, maybe the queen will feel inspired to do her annual speech in a more laid-back get-up this year?”

Perhaps, but we don’t think we’ll get our hopes up.
