This Has To Be The Strangest Birthday Party A Four-Year-Old Child Has Ever Had

When asked what kind of birthday party they want by their parents, most four-year-old children say “Disney!” or “Star Wars!” or something to that effect.

Not Iris Gill, though. The preschooler only had one theme on her mind – her favourite pharmacy.

Yep, the tiny tot from Arkansas longed for a CVS-themed birthday bash because she’s so completely obsessed with CVS – the second largest pharmaceutical chain in the US.

And it’s no fleeting fad, either. Her mum, Sarah Fortune Gill, has been documenting her obsession for a while now, posting pics of her daughter clutching goodies from the shop and dancing around the store’s aisles. She really does love it.

“Ultimately she loves CVS because she knows it to be a dreamland of snacks, chocolate milks, and toys,” Gill told BuzzFeed. “I’m more of a Target girl myself, so Iris is CVS loyal all on her own.”

But despite Iris’ love of the shop, Gill was surprised that her daughter wanted to honour the company at her birthday party.

And figuring out exactly how to throw a CVS-themed event proved to be quite tricky – because no one had done it before.

“I didn’t quite think she was serious at first,” Gill said. “So I asked her a few more times and, turns out, she was set on it.

“Once I realised Iris was for real, I started to get creative with it as much as I could, which was tough because there literally was nothing to Google or search on Pinterest.”

But we think you’ll agree that the end result was fantastic.

All of the snacks and decorations were red, white and pharmacy-themed and there was a cake inspired by the shop’s logo, plus the goody bags were chockablock with buys from the store itself – complete with special thank you note receipts.

The pharmacy itself even sent over piles of goodies, after hearing about the party and posted a message outside the Gills’ local store to wish the birthday girl many happy returns.

Clearly, it pays to be different.
