The chain mail dress is set to be the next 'naked' dress

Thanks to a rather well-known woman named Kim Kardashian, 2016 was declared the year of the ‘naked’ dress.

We’re talking sheer, see-through, netted – basically anything that she’s worn. Perhaps the most memorable being her ‘silver surfer’ moment.

And now that it’s 2017, the fashion world is on the lookout for the ‘naked’ dress’ successor.

According to Vogue, it’s all about the chain-mail dress – it’s metallic, it’s mesh – but the best way to describe it is in its name.

It’s precisely what Kendall Jenner wore for her 21st birthday a couple of months ago.

Super metallic and super sparkly, we can’t say we’re complaining about it.

Kendall isn’t the only one championing the dress, as during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Bella and Gigi Hadid were also wearing similar mesh-and-metallic ensembles.

And while Kendall and the Hadid sisters went for the barely-there look, Michelle Obama’s incredible final state dinner dress certainly falls into the same category.

In fact, it’s already become so iconic that people are doing their own takes on it all over Instagram.
