Another cycle of The Bachelor is taking over TV screens, with season 29 star Grant Ellis on the hunt for love. The 31-year-old day trader — who fans might remember from Jenn Tran's season of The Bachelorette — met the 25 women vying for his love during Monday night's episode of the reality show.

Out of those contestants, at least one stood out and caught the New Jersey-born athlete's attention. Alexe Godin, 27, was lucky enough to win the coveted first impression rose during this season's premiere, where Ellis told her post-first-date, "I think that you're funny, you're smart, you're intelligent and I had a great time."

But who exactly is this "Canadian beauty" who, according to her official bio, is "looking for a big-time love"? Is she as "funny" and "quirky" as Ellis suggested? Continue on to learn more about Godin below.

Godin is proud of her French Canadian roots, and even puts that aspect of her life first in her Instagram bio. While some might assume she's from Quebec, Godin's hometown is actually a bit further east — in New Brunswick.

Godin reportedly hails from Neguac, a small village within the Acadian Peninsula, which sits on the north eastern part of the Maritime province. Neguac is roughly a half-hour drive from Miramichi, which is the largest city in northern New Brunswick.

In 2022, Godin earned her master's degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Ottawa. During her studies, she worked as a speech language pathologist intern at a local clinic and for the CEPEO, the local school board responsible for education in French within eastern Ontario.

Since January 2022, she's been an intern at a bilingual pediatric clinic in the east end of Ottawa in Orléans. A month after starting there, she also began working as a speech therapy assistant, according to her LinkedIn page.

Godin isn't afraid to get personal — even if it comes with a side of embarrassment. In December, she shared a TikTok explaining she started taking medication during her studies due to struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder, or OCD, as well as anxiety.

Despite a change in her health, she never researched the side effects of the medication she began taking. In the clip, she admitted she didn't know diarrhea was a common side effect of the antidepressant Zoloft, leaving her in an uncomfortable situation while working out.

Looking at Godin's Instagram page, it's clear she has a strong love for travel. Her stunning photos and videos on the social media platform are geo-tagged with far-off destinations like Mexico, Turkey, Croatia, Italy, Indonesia, Spain, Greece, Egypt and more. Even her highlights of Instagram Stories are all centred around different locations she's visited.

Godin has also seemingly spent a lot of time in southern California, particularly San Diego and Los Angeles, the latter of which is where she held a Bachelor premiere watch party with her friends. She's also travelled to other parts of the United States, sharing TikTok vlogs and content from her stops in New York, Maine and Hawaii, amongst other destinations.

According to a 20 Questions interview with BachelorNation, Godin also shared where she sees herself in five years. "Living in Europe in a small coastal city with my first baby and my husband," she responded.

On her official bio for The Bachelor, one of the fun facts about Godin is that she loves ketchup-flavoured chips. It also stated that she's "addicted to cooking competition shows."

Speaking to BachelorNation, Godin was also passionate about the dish she'd pick as her last meal on earth: "Homemade lasagna!!! I am the real-life Garfield. Sleep and lasagna," she quipped.

During her childhood in Canada, Godin "grew up on a farm surrounded by goats, bunnies and chickens, which led to her lifelong love of animals," her official bio noted. Now, she's even the owner of a tuxedo cat named Milo, whom she brought home to New Brunswick this past Christmas all the way from California.

Amid the California wildfires that are wrecking havoc on areas in Los Angeles, Godin also quickly took to TikTok to share a variety of resources people can use to help impacted animals. "If you're in L.A. and want to help pets who were displaced from the L.A. fires — this is a great way to help our animal shelters who are working overtime to help our fur babies," she captioned a video posted on Jan. 12.

Bachelor fans who caught the latest episode might've also seen Godin introduce herself to Ellis with a llama by her side on the first night. During the episode, she explained the llama's name is Linda, and that it's her "no-drama-llama." She even went so far as to take the llama inside the mansion to connect with Ellis and the other contestants.
