Tenerife beats New York and Australia in this year's most searched-for holiday destinations

As the year draws to a close, we’re desperately trying to squeeze a last-minute getaway in before the inevitable Christmas crush.

But with festive flight deals invading our inbox, it can prove impossible to know where to kick-start our holiday planning.

Thankfully, we’ve tracked down the 20 most searched-for holiday destinations of 2018 so you can finally cross off one of the hot spots you didn’t get a chance to see (or ‘gram) this year.

Family favourites Cyprus, Malta and Benidorm proved popular in 2018 with Tenerife unsurprisingly stealing the top spot.

When it comes to chic city breaks, Amsterdam played host to countless Brits alongside Dublin, Barcelona and Rome.

Those itching for adventure were scouring the Internet for all things Aussie (we’re pretty sure Harry and Meghan have something to do with our newfound wanderlust).

So if you’re itching to escape the manic run-up to Christmas, look no further for inspiration as we count down this year’s most searched-for holiday destinations from New York to Thailand.
