The Danish do a lot of things well. Pastries, plastic brick-based toy empires, and mythical sea creature fairy tales, to name a few. But for pretty much every style-conscious millennial, Tekla’s curated textiles are at the top of the list.

Born in 2017, Tekla came as the answer to those who wanted homeware that reflected their design-led interests – think: Luis Barragán coffee table books and Charles Eames chairs. Last year saw them open their first retail space in their home of Copenhagen.

And since its inception, the brand has garnered a loyal following that covets its Scandi-style ethos, resonating so much with Brits that the UK has become one of the brand’s largest markets.

So, Londoners can revel in the news that a semi-permanent space (open for six months) arrives in Selfridges, offering a selection of pinstripe towels and block-coloured bedding in its largest UK retail space to date.

Head down to the lower ground floor and you’ll be greeted with the minimalist lines of the Tekla space, where you can find textiles to fill your bathroom, living room and bedroom. Oh so hygge.

The Tekla pop-up can be found on the lower-ground floor of Selfridges, 400 Oxford St, London W1A 1AB.
