Teacher who had sex with pupil on plane was 'set up for being good looking' says her brother

A female physics teacher struck off for having sex with a pupil on a flight from Geneva was targeted by pupils because she is “good looking”, her brother has claimed.

Eleanor Wilson was banned from teaching after a panel found her guilty of unacceptable professional conduct and bringing the profession into disrepute.

The panel heard the 28-year-old had sex with a pupil on a flight back from Geneva following a school visit to the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland.

During the flight in August 2015 Wilson, who was said to be intoxicated, performed a sex act on the teenager in the plan toilet and the pair had sex, the panel heard.

But the Royal Navy Reservist’s family have come forward to defend her, claiming she was blackmailed and targeted by pupils because she is good looking.

The panel heard she struck up a relationship with the boy, who claimed they had met several times out of school.

The details only emerged seven months later when a second pupil tried to blackmail her, threatening to reveal the secret unless she had sex with him, and Wilson was dismissed from the secondary school in Bristol and referred to the National College for Teaching Leadership, which has now banned her from teaching.

But the former science teacher’s family have defended her, claiming she is a victim of being “good looking”.

Her brother Jethro Wilson told The Telegraph she had previously been “hassled” by male students.

He said: “I know they made it up, because he blackmailed her. They made the story up and made it sound good. These teachers work hard all their life and go through years of courses and all it takes is one student to bring them down.

“There’s no doubt about it – he had a crush on her. They were away on an educational school trip and she didn’t want anything to do with them, so they made stories up about her.

“She’d already had enough of students giving her hassle because she was good looking. Good looking teachers get picked out by students and they get hard done by.”

He said the allegations were only made when Wilson reported the pupil for sending her explicit photographs.

Avon and Somerset Police has reportedly confirmed that Ms Wilson had voluntarily attended an interview in May last year, but is yet to be charged with any offence.

Her school has also released a statement “unreservedly” condemning her actions.
