Taylor Swift says she's 'going to die' during fire in £40 million New York apartment

Taylor Swift had a fright at her £39.5 million New York City flat when a pan on her stove burst into flames. Her friend Gracie Abrams videoed the scare and posted it on Instagram of Taylor combating the blaze with an extinguisher.

Taylor fretted: "What do I do about this?" before nabbing the fire extinguisher, adding: "So I cut this with a knife? I think we're going to die."

With Taylor fumbling to release the foam from the extinguisher, Gracie guided her: "Just press it." Taylor then jokingly named the device a "b****" before she successfully doused the fire, reports the Mirror.

Once they were safe, Taylor noticed: "Our purses are ruined. And my shoes. And the whole room, I think." To which Gracie added: "It smells really good, though."

Earlier that night, the duo had been pouring their hearts into their track Us, which was released on Friday as part of Gracie's debut album The Secret of Us. Thinking back to the 2 am to 6 am song-writing session and the fiery ordeal, Gracie shared: "Writing this entire song... was some of the most fun I've ever had in my life. @taylorswift now we know how to use a fire extinguisher. I love you."

She also included a video clip of her and Taylor writing the song. Gracie played the piano while they both sang lyrics, reading off Taylor's phone.

Gracie later recounted the fire incident during a Billboard interview: "I don't know how at this hour or in our state she knew what to do. We both had an insane cough from the fire extinguisher fumes for weeks."

Taylor is now on the road in the UK for her Eras Tour and dazzled a mammoth crowd of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium last night (Friday). However, the superstar was forced to stop the show and called for security to help.

She said: "We need some help from just right at the end of the ramp where they are waving. Just kind of waiting until I can see that's sorted out. There we go. You guys are the best. They really care about you here at Wembley Stadium."
