Taskmaster star Aisling Bea has announced the birth of her first child.
The comedian shared the happy news with fans on Instagram, posting a carousel of photos from her pregnancy before ending the slides with a sweet photo of her newborn baby asleep on her chest.
In the caption, Bea gave a one-star review of pregnancy, listing all the ‘negatives’ and ‘positives’.
On the downside, she said, she was “repeatedly kicked” in the later stages and had experienced multiple UTIs, as well as “bleeding, depression, cramps, insomnia, nosebleeds, sinus blockage, migraines, vomiting”.
She added: “Being told that you’ll forget all the pain/that it’s a privilege/that it will all be ‘worth it’ in the end, heightened awareness of climate change and worst of all – boredom – all described as normal and was repeatedly recommended a nice bath as a fix to all of the above.”
But on the positive side, Bea wrote: “Bath quite nice. Lots of help with bags at end of stay. Before checking out, nearby kebab shop man provided free extra chips and quite a flirty wink, which I appreciated.
“Was given a little gift at checkout which is, admittedly, quite cute.”
Fans and famous friends were quick to to congratulate Aisling in the post’s comments section, including Daisy Jones & The Six star Sam Claflin, who wrote: “Congratulations mama.”
Ted Lasso’s Ellie Taylor said: “Ah Aisling! Huge congratulations”, while Chewing Gum actor Kadiff Kirwan added: “Review of my godchild. 5 stars. No notes. World’s best baby. Beyond happy and proud of you my darling friend.”
Dawn French, Gemma Whelan, Bridget Christie, Kerry Godliman and Kiri Pritchard-McLean were also among those sharing their congratulations.
Bea first announced her pregnancy at the Big Slick event in Kansas City in June, where she painted a cartoon face on her pregnant belly and performed as a backup dancer for Sheryl Crow alongside fellow comic Seth Herzog.
