Tamron Hall Renewed for Season 6

After almost literally going up in flames last week, Tamron Hall has been renewed for a sixth season, it was announced on Monday.

“I am so proud,” Hall said in a video celebrating the renewal, adding that Season 6 will debut on Tuesday, Sept. 3. “We are now the second longest-running syndicated daytime talk show in Disney’s history,” she noted. Hall went on to thank her fans, the “Tam Fam,” and her behind-the-scenes crew.

“Tamron and team are a singular force in daytime because the show gets to the core of humanity through meaningful connection and thoughtful conversations whether covering the most-talked-about issues of the day or interviewing the newsmakers shaping our world,” ABC News President Kim Godwin said in a statement.

Tamron Hall — which ranks No. 3 in audience (behind only Live With Kelly & Mark and The Kelly Clarkson Show) out of the nine one-hour syndicated talk shows — recently made headlines when a grease fire erupted in the studio kitchen.

“We were in place preparing for our live show today, the audience was in the holding area…. but as my friend Debbie Smith says, ‘Sometimes life be life-ing,’” host Hall shared in a video posted to social media. She noted that everyone involved with the show as well as their audience was “safe.” Amid the chaos, the series was forced to air a rerun in lieu of a live-studio show.

The fire also caused a stir over at The View, which shares a studio with Tamron Hall. The View hosts, however, were ultimately able to start their gabfest as scheduled, entering to Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” (Watch video.)
