'80s pop princess, prep school chic, French girl chignons... Sydney Sweeney's hair has embodied enough characters to have its own IMDb page. Most recently, Sweeney went full-on Botticelli goddess at the Miu Miu spring/summer 2024 show in Paris with navel-grazing, pearl blonde waves.

Bob haircuts and Barbie blow-outs have been dominating 2023's hair trend cycle, but its extra-long hair that's taking over Paris Fashion Week, with Zendaya also debuting XXL lengths at Louis Vuitton.

While Zendaya kept hers extra sleek and impossibly glossy, Sweeney's undulating waves - created by her go-to hairstylist, Glen Oropeza - has Birth of Venus-vibes but with a cool girl twist thanks to its slightly uneven lengths and beachier texture. Fashion stylist Molly Dickson teamed the look with a Miu Miu co-ord complete with the brand's signature exposed briefs and jet-black sunnies for an insouciant, cool-girl take on the otherwise prim matching set.

Recreating Sweeney's hair is much easier than it looks. Hairstylist Tom Smith describes the style as "flat ‘S’ shape waves, most often with a middle parting and lots of volume", which can be done using S-wavers or three-pronged tong such as the Mermade Pro-Waver or Babyliss Deep Wave Styler.

"A more natural, heat free and irregular version can also be achieved by braiding your hair with a soft middle parting, leaving the ends out," says Smith. "You can sleep in this to let the waves set in or lightly run the heat from a blow-dryer over the braids using heat to set them faster." To finish, liberally douse with a texturising spray such as Aveda Texture Tonic, £24.50.

Sweeney's 'do is most likely thanks to some cleverly concealed extensions added onto her natural hair for that bum-skimming length.
