Surprising link between Coronation Street star and Gavin & Stacey's Ruth Jones
A wellknown soap actor has a special link to Gavin & Stacey's Ruth Jones, and people are only just realising why.
Welsh actor Gareth Pierce, 43, has been playing the role of Todd Grimshaw on the Cobbles since 2020, but it's not the first time we've seen him on our TV screens.
The actor and musician, originally from Gwynedd, has starred in Alys, Ordinary Lies and Living a Lie, but he's also worked with our Ness - aka Gavin & Stacey's Ruth Jones. If you're wondering where you may have seen him before, he actually starred in a hugely popular drama with her more than a decade ago.

If you haven't guessed it yet, he took on the role of angry Lenny Mack in Stella from 2013 to 2014. Lenny was the abusive boyfriend of Zoe, who went onto have a romance with Stella's son, Luke Morgan.
More than 10 years on, you'd never believe it, as the actor takes on such a different role in Coronation Street. Gareth is the second actor to have played Todd Grimshaw in the iconic soap, and he's gone onto have a variety of meaty storylines since joinng the cast.
In Corrie, Todd was actually the programme's first gay character, and the coming out storyline was celebrated for helping the soap portray a more accurate depiction of life in the 21st century.
When you look back at old pictures of Gareth in Stella, it's fair to say he looks very different. His character, Lenny, rocked spiky hair, super casual clothes and was very aggressive - world's away from his current role of Todd.
If you forgot he starred in Ruth Jones's iconic comedy-drama, Gareth has it noted on his Instagram page. On his social media profile, you'll find all sorts of updates from the actor about his work and day to day life.
The actor is often seen pictured with his family, walking mountains or enjoying fun trips away. Some people may have not even noticed the popular Corrie star is Welsh.
For those who may feel they recognise him from somwhere else, Gareth also starred in The Archers back in 2020 too. The Archers is a British radio soap opera, which is broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
It's set in the fictional village of Ambridge in the fictional county of Borsetshire, England. Borsetshire is located in between what in reality are Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
