All supermarkets affected by Storm Éowyn as Morrisons announces closures
Supermarkets up and down the country have been closing their doors today due to disruption caused by Storm Éowyn.
With high winds of up 100mph set to batter parts of the country, the Met Office issued severe red weather warnings, the highest warning, across the Central Belt, including Glasgow and Edinburgh, that will remain in place until 5pm tonight.
As a result, several retailers, local authorities and schools will remain closed while the rare warning is in place. Scots have also been urged not to travel, with travel operators shutting down services.

The latest to confirm that stores across Scotland would be closed today is Morrisons. The former supermarket has confirmed in a recent update that 50 stores across the country have been affected by the decision and that it will "reopen when it is safe to do so."
It comes after Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda made similar decisions, with many of them remaining closed from the early hours of this morning. Click and collect orders scheduled for today have also been cancelled, and customers have been advised they will be updated on the next steps.
With the storm causing widespread disruption and potential dangerous conditions, here are all the supermarkets confirmed to remain closed while the Met Office warnings are in place.

Aldi
Aldi shared on its social media channels that stores based within the red weather warning areas have been closed since 9am and will remain so until 6pm.
The supermarket said in a statement: "Due to Storm Éowyn across Scotland today (Friday 24th January), all of our Aldi Scotland stores in the Red Weather Warning areas will be closed from 9am to 6pm to ensure the safety of our teams and customers.
"We’re closely monitoring the situation and will share updates here if there are any further changes."
Tesco
Tesco was one of the first supermarkets to confirm Scottish stores would remain closed all day today.
Customers based in areas including Ayrshire, Glasgow and Stirling were notified by email regarding the closures. Home deliveries and click and collect orders have also been cancelled as a result, with the chain confirming customers will be notified of any updates.
Sainsbury's
Several Sainsbury's superstores and convenience stores in the worst affected areas will remain closed from 7am to 6pm tonight.
The supermarket has said it will "reopen once it is safe to do so after the weather warning lifts". Online deliveries, on demand services and fast-track orders have also been affected until tomorrow when conditions improve.
A statement from Sainsbury's read: “Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our colleagues and customers. We understand this decision may be inconvenient to some of our customers and we hope they understand."
