As the new year begins, many of us are focusing on our health; setting fitness goals, upping our protein intake, or improving hydration. After the holiday indulgences of the festive period, a detox can work wonders for restoring your wellbeing.

A diet packed with fruits and vegetables is essential, offering a wealth of vital vitamins and antioxidants to support your health. Popular Instagram account @healthyeatingfeed suggested people to include a fruit that is not just sweet but filled with nutrition in their routine, BristolLive reports.

The Instagram account, followed by over a million users, highlighted the perks of this fruit in a recent video. They explained: "If you eat kiwi fruit every day, your body change like this."

The post added: "Number one - say hello to glowing skin. Kiwi fruit is rich in vitamin C, which is the secret weapon against aging skin. And guess what, if you have trouble sleeping at night, kiwi is for you. They are rich serotonin - the happy hormone that allows you to sleep well."

The account went on to praise kiwis as "superheroes" for the immune system, highlighting their benefits for heart rate regulation and digestion. "You can say goodbye to ingestion blockage," they concluded.

Dr. Karan Rajan, also known as Dr. Raj on TikTok, has endorsed the health benefits of kiwifruit, particularly for those dealing with digestive issues. "If you're constipated and bloated, then this evidence-backed kiwi regime could be salvation for your bowels," he explained.

Meanwhile, the social media page @healthyeatingfeed suggests an easy way to enjoy this fruit: "To quickly peel a kiwi, cut it in half and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. The peel can be eaten for an additional boost of fibre." They also advise: "Once ripe, a kiwi should be refrigerated until eaten."

For a fun and creative twist, they suggest making a vibrant salsa by mixing kiwi chunks with mango, peppers, and cilantro. Alternatively, you can whip up a delicious breakfast parfait with layers of kiwi slices, Greek yogurt, and low-fat granola for a nutritious start to your day.

Additionally, you can "add kiwi slices to various smoothie recipes to add vitamin C and copper to a nutritious snack," says the healthy eating advocate.
