Sunday Brunch host fumes 'come on' as Strictly star 'insults' his cooking live on air

Sunday Brunch host Simon Rimmer fumed, "Come on," as Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hauer insulted his cooking skills.

Today's (February 16) edition of the Channel 4 cooking programme featured guests Big Zuu, Harriet Kemsley, The Wombats, and Dave Gorman.

Karen, who previously danced with Simon on Strictly, also appeared on the show with fellow professional dancer Gorka Marquez. The pair are set to embark on their tour later this month.

"Karen, welcome back to the show. You've obviously danced with both of these men. Which would you say is the better dancer?" asked host Tim Lovejoy at the start of the show.

After Karen gave a very diplomatic answer, Tim probed further: "And who's the better cook out of the two of them?"

"Oh," Karen said, unsure of who to choose. Her hesitation didn't go down well with Tim, who said: "She's thinking about it, no chance. It's his job!"

Simon then exclaimed: "Come on!" as a red-faced Karen quickly hid under the table.

Karen and Gorka will front their Speakeasy tour, a new show featuring various dance styles. From clandestine New York Speakeasy to sultry Havana dance floors and Burlesque Cabaret Clubs, fans have lots of content to look forward to.

According to the official logline, the production will be a "delicious dance experience" that promises an "undercover world of elegance and iconic dance flavours."

"We're going through the eras, the 20s, 40s, and 60s, and we're going through the Speakeasy clubs. We always have those clubs where people go around and be what they want without being judged. So, we said we wanted to create that in the theatre," Gorka explained on Sunday Brunch.

Karen then revealed that it took the pair a year to develop a "different" idea for their new tour following their Firedance production in 2023.

"It has a very sophisticated, sexy, dangerous kind of feel to it, and it's completely different to what you've seen us do before," she added.

The tour will begin on February 24 in Dartford, running through to the final show at Leicester's De Montfort Hall on April 13. The two-month run will conclude with a West End gala performance on April 15 at the iconic Adelphi Theatre in London.
