Suki Waterhouse stepped out in three retro outfits that we can't wait to copy

There’s nothing we love more than when an actor channels their upcoming on screen character through their wardrobe.

Margot Robbie brought Barbie to life with her custom pink Chanel gown at the Golden Globes last month, Elizabeth Debicki paid homage to Princess Diana at the Crown Season 5 premiere, replicating the late princess’ Catherine Walker dress from the 1987 Cannes Film Festival and Lily James has somewhat transformed from Cinderella to Pamela Anderson with her latest red carpet renaissance.

The latest sartorial powerhouse to become their character is the multi-hyphenate Suki Waterhouse, nailing a trio of retro looks during her outing yesterday with the cast of her new series Daisy Jones & The Six in New York City.

Her first 70s chic look of the day

Based on the eponymous band name from the 1970’s, Suki left no expenses with her aptly retro looks, giving each one a contemporary touch that had us swooning over every.single.outfit.

For her first look of the day, the 31-year-old gave ‘Abba meets 2023 dopamine dressing’. She wore a pink silk floral dress with a mandarin collar adorned with a classic floral design. Earth tones dominated the era, therefore layering an amber coloured fur coat on top was the  perfect choice.

But accessories were the key to giving this look its ultimate vintage edge, as the London-born model donned calf high boots in brilliant white, and a pair of oversized square sunglasses with a yellow tinted lens. Iconic.

A Kendall Jenner-approved hot pants ensemble

For her visit to the top of Empire State Building with her castmates, Suki – who plays keyboardist Karen Sirko in the upcoming series – amped up the level of chic (though lessened the weather appropriateness considering she was heading 1,250 feet up into open air…)

She donned a pair of light denim hot pants with sheer tights underneath and black strappy stilettos – Kendall Jenner would approve. A champagne satin shirt made for her base, with a thin black jacket forming a midlayer underneath her cropped white fur coat.

She eschewed a scarf and opted for the latest accessory in every It-girl’s wardrobe to cup her neck – a red corsage.

Contemporary footwear meets 70s disco fever? Yes please

Depending on individual style, you may feel she left the look best till last. Gradually bringing her accessories agenda up to date with our current style wishlist, Suki donned a pair of white distressed denim knee-length shorts (a popular street-style from Copenhagen Fashion Week) juxtaposed with an ivory cami and tonal blazer with satin lapels.

The pièce de résistance was her Givenchy Shark Lock boots in glittery Barbiecore pink. SS23 meets 70’s disco fever? We’re obsessed.

Daisy Jones & the Six premieres on Prime Video on Friday, March 3
