How to style shoes and jeans, according to our Fashion Director
Thought the hard work was over after finally finding your perfect pair of jeans, only to get stuck when it came to footwear? Our Fashion Director, Oonagh Brennan, is here to help with her ultimate guide to the best shoes to wear with jeans. From cropped to wide-leg, skinny to straight, here's how she recommends styling the coolest shapes of denim...
Cropped jeans and ankle boots
Crop styles, whether wide, kick flare or straight, look best with an ankle boot. Go for a high block heel, sock boot or chunky hiker biker. The key is for the hem of the jeans to hit the top of the boot for extra leg lengthening magic.

Skinny jeans and slingbacks
Skinny jeans are making a comeback and H&M's low slung ankle length ones are the newest iteration on the trend. Great for petite silhouettes they are the ultimate evening jean, wear with kitten heel sling backs and add ankle socks if it's chilly.

Straight jeans and boat shoes
90's straight leg jeans are the perfect partner for pumps, trainers and loafers but if you want to earn extra style points the new suede or leather yachty is the shoe to go for. Wear them with a slinky roll neck to keep the preppy vibe alive.

Wide-leg jeans and points
The super loose, slouch jean is the style of the moment and unless you're very tall requires a heel to help the drape effect. Go for pointed toes peeping out from under the wide, swishy hem for a sophisticated finish. High pumps, stiletto ankle boots or even knee boots will work, just make sure the toe is a point.
