Strictly's Wynne Evans takes swipe at 'rude' Craig Revel Horwood as he gives tour insight

Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans took a swipe at Craig Revel Horwood on Monday's episode of The One Show.

During the latest episode, Wynne, 52, was on the show to talk about his new series Wynne & Joanna: All At Sea with friend and Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page.

However, chat got onto Strictly after Wynne competed in the 2024 series and he is currently on the BBC One dancing show's live tour, Strictly Come Dancing Live!, where fans get to see their favourites dance across the UK.

Giving an insight into the tour so far, Wynne didn't hold back as he joked: "It's fun, you know, it's just real fun, it's absolute entertainment. Craig [who is a judge] is as rude as ever. He called me right, yesterday, he said that I was stompy and flat footed. Right?"

"So I said: 'Have you heard your album, mate, that's stompy and flat if ever I've heard it!' So yeah, there's quite a lot of banter and he gave me a two yesterday, so I was absolutely gutted, just because I was a bit rude about his album!", he quipped.

WalesOnline has contacted Craig's representative for comment.

It comes as Craig was flooded with praise from his fellow Strictly Come Dancing judges after celebrating a milestone recently. The longest-serving judge on Strictly Come Dancing was labelled "warm and witty" by his colleagues as they shared tributes to him on his 60th birthday.

In November, Wynne was the eighth celebrity to depart the dancefloor during Strictly Come Dancing 2024. The opera singer, who was partnered with pro dancer Katya Jones, found themselves in the dance-off against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe.

The judges - Craig, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas - all decided to save Montell and Johannes, meaning Wynne and Katya were eliminated.

When asked by Tess Daly about his time on the show, Wynne said: "It's been wonderful, I’ve got to say. I feel like it's what Strictly is all about. If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time.

"Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing."

Wynne added: "To have been partnered with Katya has been amazing and coming every Saturday night to hang out with these guys [to fellow contestants in the Clauditorium], that's been wonderful. But to spend every weekday dancing has been just fantastic. I've grown so much and I'm so thankful to have met this person [to Katya]."

The One Show continues on weeknights at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
