Strictly's Giovanni Pernice supported by fans as he confirms he's 'taking a break'

Giovanni Pernice has announced that he will soon be taking a "little break" from dancing after a rather hectic few years. The Strictly Come Dancing star, 33, has spent the last few months touring the UK with his own headline show.

The professional dancer has been working non-stop since he joined Strictly in 2015, later bagging the trophy in 2021 when he was paired with actress Rose Ayling-Ellis. And earlier this year he kicked off his Let Me Entertain Your tour, which has seen him travelling up and down the country.

The tour is set to finish on April 30 at New Victoria Theatre in Woking, before Giovanni hits the road again in June for a two-man show with Strictly judge and mate Anton Du Beke. Despite his future on Strictly being up in the air as the BBC has yet to announce its professional line-up for 2024, Giovanni has already revealed plans for a break next year following another round of touring.

Giovanni shared the news on Instagram, posting a poster for 'Giovanni - The Last Dance', which will kick off on January 20, 2025, once again at the Beck Theatre in Hayes, and wrap up on May 4, 2025, at the prestigious London Palladium, reports the Mirror.

"I have had a wonderful time this year on my solo tour and already looking forward to even bigger and better next year! " the Strictly legend told his Instagram followers. He further explained to his 1.1 million fans, urging them to get their tickets early: "After performing in front of over half a million people for seven years in row, I plan to take a little break after next year's tour, so book your tickets in advance for 'GIOVANNI - THE LAST DANCE' now at"

His army of fans quickly showed both their support for the Italian dancer and hopes that he wouldn't retire his dancing shoes for too long. "No-one deserves a break more than you do. Just don't stay away too long," one fan wrote.

Meanwhile, another fan encouraged: "You give so much, it's time to take some well deserved time out for you." While someone else praised saying: "You deserve a break, you've absolutely smashed it these last 7 years. You should be proud of yourself."

Another one of Giovanni's fans echoed similar sentiments and stated: "Giovanni please say it won't be your VERY LAST DANCE though? ? I hope you'll come back to the theatres at some point."

While another admirer expressed their excitement regarding the upcoming event: "You soo deserve the break after next year GIOVANNI I Have already booked the palladium."
