Last night (10 March) saw former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan crowned the winner of Dancing on Ice, after skating an impressive take on the famous Bolero.

James, who was paired on the show with Alexandra Lukasz, described his win as “amazing” and he wasn’t the only one celebrating. His Strictly friends took to social media to share their delight, too.

Strictly’s head Judge Shirley Ballas wrote on Instagram:

“Words cannot express how I feel right now that my dear friend of over 20 years has just won Dancing on Ice. I'm thrilled beyond belief. Having known James for sooo many years I know his work ethic is that of sheer determination and brilliance.

“He gave his all from the very beginning of the show and took nothing for granted. A well-deserved win on so many levels. I'm in the USA at the moment but my mum called with the result tears all round James we r sooo proud of you. A Superstar in my book. Love and hugs. Enjoy every minute.”

James' fellow former-Strictly pro Ian Waite posted:

“Massive congratulations to my old #Strictly mate @The_JamesJordan for winning @dancingonice #DOI truly well-deserved you were amazing.”

James’ wife, Ola, who lifted the Glitter Ball trophy on Strictly when she was a part of the show was clearly thrilled after the results were announced.

It wasn’t just Strictly professionals sharing messages of support for James. Judy Murray, a former celebrity contestant on the show, said:

“So clever. How did u get so good so quickly?”

While James' Dancing on Ice co-star Brian McFadden shared a sweet tribute on Twitter.

“So proud of @The_JamesJordan the absolute deserved champion of @dancingonice he worked harder than anyone!! He’s also the greatest guy who helped the rest of us through the show with dancing skills. Beautiful human that I’m glad to call my friend x.”

James' win came after he was criticised by some viewers for having an 'unfair advantage' because of his background in dance.

Hitting back at those claims, he told The Sun: "It's completely unfair to say that having me on the show makes it a fix. What people don't realise is that the way you move your body on ice is completely different to how you move it as a dancer."

Congratulations James and Alexandra!
