Strictly star stuns fans as they sign up to huge rival show
Doctor Who is upping the ante with its season 14 line-up, as it welcomes Strictly Come Dancing 2021 champion Rose Ayling-Ellis to its star-studded cast. The showrunner Russell T Davies has confirmed that the EastEnders alum, who played Frankie Lewis and recently left the soap, will feature in what he describes as one of the scariest episodes in the series' history. During a Q&A, Davies gushed about Rose's performance: "We've got a story with Rose Ayling-Ellis in the lead. She's the lead in one episode, which is stunning. I think it's our scariest episode, it's absolutely terrifying."
He also praised the dynamic between Rose and Ncuti Gatwa, hinting at other phenomenal guest stars in the episode, as reported by RadioTimes. The announcement of Rose's new role was made on social media, showcasing her character in distress and igniting fan excitement. Followers expressed anticipation with one saying: "That's amazing. I have seen her in a number of things now so am excited to see her character." Another fan, said: "Ahh! She's the best! Very exciting!" while one was surprised: "Didn't even recognise her! ! Love her so much! So looking forward to seeing her," reports the Express.
A fourth tweeted their excitement, saying: "About time, I hope she becomes a regular! She's the best!!!" Meanwhile, on landing her new Doctor Who gig, Rose confessed: "I loved Doctor Who when I was growing up, so being cast in the show was a dream come true. My inner child is ecstatic with excitement."

She joined the chorus of praise by saying, "Working with Russell and filming alongside the talented cast and crew has been an incredible experience. Ncuti is a wonderful Doctor, and I can't wait for audiences to see what we have created together," as shared with the media outlet.
In August, Doctor Who creator Russell T Davies has shared an exciting update about a new spin-off series of the hit sci-fi show. The War Between the Land and the Sea was officially announced at Comic Con last month after being heavily rumoured for a while. Now, the showrunner has revealed pre-production has started as of Monday 20 August as he gave fans a sneak peak at the first script readthrough with the cast and crew.
He shared a picture on Instagram of the top part of the script, as well as a sign with his name on it and other cast/crew in the background.
Russell excitedly penned: "Day One. The war begins. Readthrough day for all 5 episodes of THE WAR BETWEEN THE LAND AND THE SEA. "So much excitement. What a cast! Thrills, deaths, chases, fish and seven seas of danger. Can't wait! @bbcdoctorwho @disneydoctorwho @bbciplayer."
Enthusiastic fans rushed to the comments section to share their excitement for the upcoming show from the Doctor Who series. One Instagram user expressed: "CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
