Strictly star reveals worry for her 'maternal clock' that 'doesn't stop' after marriage split
Strictly Come Dancing's Katya Jones has opened up about her fears about her 'maternal clock' in a candid admission.
The dancing sensation has expressed her concerns over love and motherhood as she approaches her 35th birthday. Katya, who was previously hitched to co-star Neil Jones, has been single for a while and is gearing up for another dazzling season on the dance floor.
Addressing the ticking of her biological clock, Katya confessed: "Yes. Modern females of our age, we can have careers, pursue our passions. Be happy and fulfilled on our own. However, on the other side, it doesn't stop our maternal clock or our ageing process, unfortunately. So how do you balance those two things? ".
During a heart-to-heart on Aimee Fuller's Monday Mile podcast, recorded while vacationing in Australia, the Russian beauty delved into the topic with her Olympic snowboarder pal. As they strolled, they touched upon the empowering support women provide each other.
Katya faced a barrage of online trolling following a leaked snap showing her smooching comedian Seann Walsh, her 2018 Strictly partner, who was then in a relationship. Post-scandal, in 2019, she parted ways with Neil, who recently celebrated the arrival of baby Havana with Love Island alum Chyna Mills.
Despite splitting from Neil, it appears that Katya still shares a friendly relationship with him, as she recently wished him a happy birthday.
She shared a throwback picture on her Instagram story of Neil as a baby and captioned it: "Happy Birthday Neil Jones," followed by a tongue out and winking emoji.
She added: "Neil's birthday will forever mean one thing.... Happy Friendiversary to my absolute favourite."
Katya has opened up about dealing with online trolls. She confidently shared: "I have totally learned to disconnect from it. What matters to me is us walking right now, you knowing who I am. My family knowing and loving me for who I am. But would I like to add value to the world? Yes. And I already do it in some ways. I think I make people happy because that's what Strictly does."
She told Hello about her relationship with Monday Mile podcast hose Aimee: "We actually met through Neil, my ex-husband. I went to his birthday party in 2021, and Aimee was a big part of it because she introduced him to wake surfing; we spent his birthday wake surfing with a group of people, and Aimee was one of them, and we got on so well. That was it, the start of the adventure."
